Sep 17, 2012 · I recently bought 4 * 4GB (Total 16GB) of RAM to my computer. My motherboard is a GIGABYTE G1.Assassin (X58). Since it have 6 DIMM/RAM slots, I am a bit confused. How should I configure and place my RAM? Side by side? Does it matter in what order/slot I install the RAM in? Hope anyone can help me out. I have always seen that the motherboard RAM slots are colored in pairs, but never knew what it meant. I just put the 2 RAM in, and after a few tries it always worked. But after I tried to install a third one it always throws me a blue screen of death. Is there an order how should I install RAM to the board? What do the colors mean?
